BJ Kines-National Journal of Basic & Applied Sciences is a scientific journal which brings latest knowledge regarding change in medical field. Journal is the official publication of B.J. Medical College, Ahmedabad, India. Institute was established in 1871 as Ahmedabad Medical School with undergraduate and post graduation medical education including super-specialties.
Journal includes review articles, original research articles, short communications etc of medical sciences after being peer reviewed by esteemed faculties of medical science. The journal caters to specialties of Anatomy, Physiology, Biochemistry, Pathology, Microbiology, Pharmacology, Forensic Medicine, Preventive and Social Medicine, ENT, Ophthalmology, Surgery, Medicine, Paediatrics, Obstetrics & Gynecology, Anaesthesiology, Radiology, Dermatology and all subjects related to the field of Medicine
The journal has a team of editors for each specialty from different parts/states of India. Editor acts as handling editor for manuscript submitted to his/her section. Number of editors for a particular specialty depends on the submission journal attracts. They are specialist of considerable standing in their field having published articles in national and international journal of MEDICAL SCIENCES. The editor makes initial evaluation of submitted script, and if finds suitable, manuscript is sent to two peer reviewers having experience of reviewing manuscript in past.
The journal has been assigned International standard serial number-Print (ISSN) 2231-6140, International standard serial number-Online (ISSN) 2395-7859. BJ Kines-National Journal of Basic & Applied Sciences is a half yearly peer reviewed journal. The first issue of the journal was published in June 2009.
