The Burns and Plastic Surgery Department at B J Medical College and Civil Hospital, Ahmedabad, is one of the leading center for comprehensive management of burns and reconstructive surgeries in Gujarat. Established with a mission to provide high-quality care, the department boasts state-of-the-art infrastructure and a dedicated team of skilled plastic surgeons and paramedical staff. The department manages a wide spectrum of cases, ranging from acute burn injuries to complex reconstructive surgeries for trauma, congenital anomalies, post-burn deformities, micro-vascular surgery, reconstructive surgery for Leprosy deformity, etc.

The unit has a specialized burns ward equipped with modern facilities to provide round-the-clock intensive care for patients with thermal, electrical, and chemical burns. It also houses an advanced skin bank, which plays a crucial role in treating major burns with skin grafting and tissue reconstruction.

In addition to clinical services, the department is actively involved in research and academic activities. It offers M.Ch. courses in Plastic Surgery and provides hands-on training to postgraduate students.
